This lettuce is characterised by its rounded shape. Its outer layers have a greenish tone that becomes lighter as the leaves get closer to the trunk. The leaf is turgid, thin and very crisp. Its flavour is fresh, mild and juicy.
Iceberg lettuce is ideal for serving cut as a garnish or in cocktails. It is called "iceberg" because of its resistance to cold.
